“ Gorgeous property in an artistic and picturesque village amongst beautiful landscape ”
This property is clearly well loved and maintained - a comfortable and welcoming home for home with a lovely terrace to enjoy the view with a breeze. The kitchen is well-equipped so dining in or out was a pleasure given the local recommendations The aircon units were much needed before bed during the heat wave, but did the job. A couple of fixes needed as with any old building but messages left to let us know.

“ Beautiful Village House ”
This is our third year staying at this beautiful house. The facilities are excellent. It is in a lovely position in the village. Just a few steps to all the amenities but quiet and peaceful in the evening.
The house is a good size, the rooms are spacious and it is well appointed with everything you need if you want to eat in. Close to restaurants if you don’t!
The terrace is beautiful, sunny until mid afternoon with lovely views over the countryside. A perfect base for visiting the area.

“ Fabulous home in Casole d'Elsa ”
We stayed for two weeks at Dans House in Casole d'Elsa and we loved every minute of our stay. The home was in a fabulous location, in a historical building, just steps away from the town square and the main cobblestone road in the heart of the little town. The town has a couple of excellent butcheries, a little well stocked grocery store and about 3 or 4 lovely restaurants. We would go for coffee each morning, sitting outside at one of the cafes in the main street and we quickly got to feel like part of the community. The home was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, the shower/bathroom was huge and there were two separate toilets. The kitchen was well equipped with every type of dish, crockery, cutlery and appliance we could ever need. It had a great gas stove, and a large fridge freezer (most important in the Italian summer heat!). In the laundry there was an excellent washer, dryer, iron/board, and another drinks fridge. Wifi was excellent and there was a good library with a huge range of books. Parking was excellent, being immediately below our front door. We loved being so close to the heart of the town, as we could easily walk to the restaurants each evening for dinner if we didn't feel like cooking. Communication with Invitation to Tuscany was excellent, and they also gave us recommendation for a wine tasting at a little vineyard not far from Casole d'Elsa which we wouldn't have known about otherwise, so we appreciated their helpful input. Would definitely recommend this lovely genuine Italian home to anyone.

“ Dan's House, Casole d'Elsa ”
We had a wonderful stay at Dan's House in the hill top town of Casole d'Elsa, near Siena. The apartment was very well furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The town itself is very attractive and worth exploring, with all the facilities within a short walking distance. We enjoyed visiting the local shops, restaurants and community swimming pool nearby.
We were also able to visit San Gimignano, Siena and Florence easily by car. Casole d'Elsa has a friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed the events leading up to the town's 2024 Palio.

“ Charming Village. Great Location. ”
Great location in a charming village. Convenient to other points of interest in the area. We really felt like we were immersed in the daily life of Casole d’ Elsa as it was not crowded with tourists. There were plenty of places to eat within the town. It was also very nice to have a reserved parking spot. Our view was breathtaking. We enjoyed watching the sunrise come up every morning. We already reserved our next trip back.

“ A dream come true ”
We stayed four weeks in Dan's House in Casole d'elsa. It was a dream come true, and we wish we could have stayed longer. This comfortable house was very well equipped and so well located, in a tiny, non-tourist village where everyone was so friendly. Dan was particularly helpful, offering excellent recommendations and sharing his local knowledge. We will be back.

“ Wonderful village apartment ”
This is a village we already love, but this apartment was new to us this year. It is spacious, well appointed and perfectly positioned to enjoy all that village life has to offer. I think we counted 53 steps to the bar! Room are airy, and have lovely furnishings. Beautiful artwork on the walls too! Excellent washing machine, which is always helpful.
The terrace provides wonderful views of the countryside and we enjoyed sitting there most days and many evenings. We plan to be back next year. Another winner from Invitation to Tuscany, thank you.

“ Return Visit ”
Returning to Dan’ s House is for us like visiting a friends place welcoming and comfortable . Even when the Tuscan sun forgets to shine we can potter around the village and frequent the bars and restaurants.We have walked extensively in the lovely countryside direct from the property enjoying the wildflowers birds and even the occasional deer sighting Travelling further afield there is always a new hill village to explore or favourite town to revisit and that goes for eateries too

“ Part of Tuscan town life ”
Dan’s House gave us the opportunity to stay within a friendly Tuscan hilltop town community which we thoroughly enjoyed - from eating and drinking to strolling and shopping (we were able to buy everything we needed in the town). A highlight was listening to a concert of live music in the square one evening along with other visitors and residents. The property is equipped to a very high standard with fantastic views - the marble shower cubicle deserves a special mention! The location is great for visiting other towns and villages too.

“ Comfortable and stylish apartment in a lovely village ”
We loved our week's stay here. On the first floor of a big old house, this very spacious and comfortable apartment has been carefully restored. It feels much more like a home than a 'rental'. There is a terrace to dine on with fantastic views to the Tuscan hills. Charming Moroccan style bathroom and well appointed kitchen with 'horse trough' sink. The village location is great, a couple of minutes walk up to the pretty main street with cafes and shops. The sights of Sienna, San Gimignano, Volterra etc are all within a half hour's drive, but mostly we enjoyed staying home in Dan's House!

“ ...fabulous location in a Village steeped in history ”
What a wonderful treat to be able to venture from the gloom of lockdown to an Italian idyll that is Dan’s House, fabulous location in a Village steeped in history. We felt privileged to be welcomed and part of it it for two glorious weeks The warmth of the villagers was on a par with the heat of the Tuscan sun. We had copious wishes for a good morning, afternoon and evening and they were fulfilled daily
We walked from the house into the Tuscan countryside to explore. The landscape was amazing and every vista deserved to be photographed and it was. Although late summer there was still an abundance of colour from the blue chicory to yellow of crocus. Scents of wild fennel mint and rosemary delighted with nature’s gifts pocketed for recipes or a cheeky cocktail enjoyed on the lovely space of the house's terrace
Dan’s House is a happy house. Lots of homely little touches and treasured possessions and furnishings. We felt pampered and very much appreciated the care taken to make our stay so enjoyable

“ Idyllic location ”
We had a very good stay in Pinolo. The location was perfect, we could walk into the beautiful village of Casole d'Elsa. There was a community supermarket very close opposite the petrol station which had everything you could want. 2 butchers in the village. Great restaurants and bar. We particularly like the little balcony where we ate supper, very private. We thought it was a great base to explore all the places of interest, Volterra, San Gimignano and Siena by bus from Colle di Val D'Elsa was so easy. Our host provided us with the timetable and all the info we needed. They couldn't have been more accommodating. We will recommend to our friends and family.

“ Lovely time in Casole d'Elsa ”
We had a really lovely time in Casole d’Elsa albeit extremely hot with the heatwave Europe is experiencing. Having a swimming pool was a must and greatly enjoyed. Seeing Elvira at nearly 90 years of age still looking so healthy and definitely the loved matriarch of the family was really lovely. I couldn’t understand a word she said but she was very welcoming as was her daughter-in-law, Katia who now manages the place. She even made us a cake which was so, so lovely😊
We did notice a few changes in the village although I would agree it still offers that authentic charm. We enjoyed walking into the village every day for a morning coffee. We really liked the Ristorante Pizzeria il Porrina – nice reasonably priced meals and the Ristorante Pizzeria il Colombaio di Cipressina (sit on the terrace so you get the view).
We have now experienced 3 of the 4 accommodation options at Agresto and each has their own charm. Loved the space of and the views from first floor Pinolo and the coolness of Rustico which was on the cooler side of the house. The layout of Rustico was certainly a bit different with no lounge other than the couch situated in 1 of the bedrooms and the ‘throne’ and shower at the top of stairs in the bathroom. Of the 2 options Pinolo would be our pick of the 2 bedroom options due to its layout and views. We got to see the new addition to the accommodation options (Mandorlo) – which is a lovely modern tastefully done 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor which as ideal for a couple

“ Fabulous property in Tuscany ”
This was our second trip to stay near beautiful Casole d'Elsa - and this time at Pinolo just outside of the village. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The property was just beautiful and just what we wanted. Very peaceful and quiet - with wonderful views and a great pool to enjoy. We spent time relaxing at the property, walking the gentle walk into the village for coffee or meals - and also driving to nearby villages for further exploration. Pinolo met all of our needs and more - it exceeded our expectations. We even had the lovely caretakers leave us a freshly made tart one day to add to the wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

“ A very pleasant apartment on an Agriturismo within walking distance of the village. ”
We enjoyed our stay at Pinolo. Well equipped apartment with amazing views and Katia was an excellent host. Within walking distance of the lovely village of Casole D’Elsa and there is a nice bar serving great pizzas even closer. There is an excellent pool and well equipped outside seating areas so you can relax after a day sightseeing in this superb area.

“ Lovely country location ”
Pinolo is situated in a beautiful picturesque location. It's an easy walk to the village (learning about the lift to the top of the town early is essential!). The setting is gorgeous with a lovely pool and countryside around. The accommodation itself seems a little tired in terms of furnishings, appliances and utensils and the bathroom is definitely utilitarian but if you don't mind quaint then this will be fine for you. Unfortunately the pool towels we had requested (and paid for) weren't left for us, and the single bed in the second bedroom wasn't made up (again as requested). These were attended once we raised it. All in all we had a lovely stay at Pinolo and would love to return - ideally after a bit of an upgrade of facilities.

“ Another glorious week! ”
My sister, a friend and I spent another wonderfully relaxing week here. We had stayed here last year and couldn't wait to return. Thank you to Katia and family for making us so welcome again. The wine that they produced was delicious and it was so nice to have the chance to try it. We had inadvertently timed our stay during the local Palio so we were able to enjoy the festivities too! I couldn't imagine a better location to stay as not only is it peaceful with beautiful views towards SAN GIMIGNANO , but it is a short walk into the little town of Casole d'Elsa which was a favourite place for morning coffee and breakfast. The kitchen facilities in the apartment are perfect which also enabled us to prepare simple lunches before returning to the beautiful pool.
We definitely plan to return to Pinolo and find it difficult to make any suggestions which could improve our stay next time !(perhaps bigger, softer pillows?)

“ Being able to walk into Casole D’Elsa is a big bonus ”
Had a great last minute stay in Pinolo and received fabulous service from Dan – he came up with exactly what we were looking for. The apartment is in a superb location – being able to walk into Casole D’Elsa is a big bonus plus there are lots of great restaurants to choose from. There is also a supermarket within walking distance that is well stocked (not obvious from the road that it is actually a supermarket!). Apartment is well kept and has everything you need (no oven so need to bear that in mind) and has great views. The pool area is another added bonus. Overall this is a great base to visit the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Our second stay at Pinolo only confirmed what we always felt about the place, the location, accommodation and amenities are, without doubt, exactly what is required for a peaceful, tranquil and restful stay in Tuscany. The first floor entrance is adjacent to the rear door to the owners accommodation and their kindness and generosity of spirit was wonderful, they gave us homemade cake, wine and ice creams and were always on hand for help and advice. The kitchen could perhaps do with being a little better equipped and the size of the drinking glasses a little small for beer drinkers, but on a score from 100 we would give it 99.5!

“ ...everything one would need for a holiday ”
Stayed at Pinolo in Casole d'Elsa - good sized apartment for 4 people, very clean and tidy and everything one would need for a holiday. Pool was a nice size with plenty of loungers/ seats around - and my favourite, a hammock hanging between 2 olive trees! 5 mins walk to nearest pizza house (which did pastries for breakfast too) and the local produce stocked supermarket and about a 15 mins walk to the town - which is beautiful with a good handful of restaurants and bars. Invitation to Tuscany - Very helpful in terms of booking and finding us something that would suit us and our small-ish children. Would highly recommend

“ Fantastic holiday made even better by the welcoming owners ”
We were heartily welcomed by the owners, whose grasp of English was only marginally better than our Italian, but after creating a raport with suitable "thumbs up" hand signals to indicate our pleasure with the appartment, she moved on to describe the operation of the dishwasher in Italian, which was probably a little over-optimistic.
The Apartment was just perfect for 4 and had plenty of space in the lounge/dining area for relaxing out of the sun. Breakfast was often taken on the patio area overlooking the countryside - just fabulous. After a quick swim in the "its alright once you are in" pool, it was down to some serious sunbathing on the loungers - and there are more than enough for everyone. Lunch by the pool on a table conveniently located under a shady pergola with even better views and San Gim in the background. Afternoons spent relaxing - although sometimes interspersed with awesome thunder and lightning over the valleys!
Locals towns provide a good evenning entertainment, even Casola D'Elsa seemed to have enough going on to keep us going back, despite its small size. This place has everything you need for a quiet week or so, but a car is a must for getting about and shopping, the local supermarket and shops are limited.
Fantastic holiday made even better by the welcoming owners - even turned up with free homemade pizza and wine at 11pm one night, which we ate and drank in the moonlight! We would return tomorrow.

You know that scary feeling you get when you book accommodation on the internet that looks wonderful in the photos, but you're sure it couldn't possibly be that wonderful? Well, rest assured, Pinolo is wonderful! Charming hosts, beautiful, quiet, relaxed setting, yet still close to village. We stayed in the two bedroom upstairs apartment. Very clean, rustic and charming. I will always remember the view from the upstairs window - you can see the towers of San Gimignano in the distance. So many beautiful places to visit nearby, beautiful Tuscan countryside. We'll be back!

Situated in the heart of Chianti in Tuscany, this villa is in walking distance of a lovely village with restaurants and a weekly BBQ on the village plaza which is a must! The hosts are most welcoming and the Pinolo villa offers excellent views! Great sightseeing in the region. The hosts wine is worth the purchase. The outdoor pool is large and always clean. We stayed at Pinolo last summer and would highly recommend it. The location is excellent - within walking distance of the local village, and right in the heart of Tuscany. The family who own the property were incredibly welcoming and one evening we were brought homemade cake and a bottle of their own wine. Delicious. Having the pool also helped hugely on hot days. We will definitely return.

“ The owners are lovely and produce their own wine and olive oil ”
The farm house is a little outside the village which is uphill and easily reached by car, bike or by foot. The latter will maybe take 30 mins. The apartment is on the first floor in the main building with its own entry. The two bedrooms have sufficient space for 5 and the living & dining room as well. In case you like outside dining you need to take note that you have to go downstairs, which is not very practical. There is a small outside sitting area, good for two and a glass of wine in the evenings. The pool is nice and the gardens (vineyard, olives) are lovely. The farm is a on a hill itself which allows for a cooling breeze and nice views. The owners are lovely and produce their own wine and olive oil. A good price compared to many other locations we saw on-line.

Our apartment, Pinolo, was spacious and well equipped with beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside from every window. The building is a traditional farmhouse which added to it's charm and there were plenty of outside spaces to relax in. We found it a very convenient base to explore Tuscany, not far from San Gimignano, Siena, Orvieto and Florence.

“ .....we liked it so much, we would consider hiring the entire complex the next time ”
We knew we wanted to stay in Tuscany but could not find the ideal location. After stumbling across 'Welcome to Tuscany', the helpful staff recommended we stay at a charming, converted Tuscan farm house in the heart of Tuscany upon the outskirts of the small village of Casole'd Elsa. Father and sons the three of us set off from Carcassonne, and thus arrived late at Pinolo and Rustico after a beautiful, but winding drive through the Alpes and across the fateful Rubicon. Upon arrival the owner kindly stayed to greet us, which set the scene for the rest of the holiday; as the owners who lived on site worked tirelessly to ensure the accommodation and surrounding grounds were kept immaculate whilst remaining innocuous but there to help if needed. Both apartments well equipped with original features and large luxurious bedrooms. The complex was landscaped throughout with thoughtful touches like flowers and charming Cypress trees which framed the gentle descent from farmhouse to pool. The Village was a short walk on foot and although small it was a lovely example of some of the bigger and more impressive Casole's situated in Tuscany. With a great selection of Restaurants - in particular the Enoteca which runs a set course that changed each night of the week and friendly English speaking owners. Beware of 'White Tuesdays', when the whole towns descends to paint the town, 'white' (called so because they do not sleep - like another day and something of a tradition in much of Tuscany) In terms of location Casole d'Elsa was perfectly situated to explore the well known likes of Sienna, Florence and San Gimignano (recommend Quattro Gatti for super!) but also the lesser known, and less spoilt towns such as Volterra (see the Etruscan tombs - utterly fascinating - like steeping down through the gates of Hades explored in Homer's literature), Montalcino and the medieval walled city of Monteriggioni. For those who love red wine, not more could be asked in this delightful region; and a pilgrimage to Saasicaia and the aforementioned Montalcino is well worth it. We like it so much, we would consider hiring the entire complex the next time and bringing all our friends!

“ highly recommended ”
We stayed in the upper floor of the farmhouse (Pinolo) at Agriturismo Elvira. The accommodation was great for our family of 4. A lovely large room for living/dining/cooking, plus 2 bedrooms and bathroom. There are pretty garden areas and terraces around the house where you can sit or eat al fresco with amazing views of the Tuscan and Chianti hills. The outdoor swimming pool and surrounding garden was great too! The hill town of Casole d'Elsa is a 15 - 20 minute walk with a good range of small shops plus some excellent places to eat and drink. Highly recommended

“ A fantastic stay at Pinolo ”
We had a fantastic stay at Pinolo - beautiful part of the country. The accomodation was great, very authentic Tuscan farm feel while providing most of what we needed. The only suggestion would be for them to improve the WiFi reception within Pinolo itself. It was a bit hit and miss at times. Also to provide basic soap and shower gel. It was a bit of a surprise to us that this wasn't provided. Otherwise it was superb, and we really enjoyed having the private pool available to us. We also really enjoyed the local town of Casole d'Elsa. The pizza restaurant in particular was very good for lunch - great value for money and excellent service. We also had an amazing dinner at the restaurant attached to the local hotel. Can't remember the name of the hotel but it's on the main road to the left as you leave the housing estate area. Thanks for making this property and experience available to us.

“ ..Stayed there...and we loved it ”
I stayed here with my family when our son Ben was around 2 years old and we loved it. I know the village well, as it's where I grew up, so it was great to be able to walk in every morning - Ben and I would go in to buy breakfast for mum from the local cafe. The living room/ kitchen is large and comfortable, and the little loggia perfect for an evening drink with an ear out for sleeping children.

We felt so comfortable in this spacious apartment, with its lovely light and generous spaces just right for a small family holiday. The good-sized pool and the views of the vines to one side and the valley to the other are delightful. “ Better than expected ”
The property was better than expected. Very spacious, well appointed chef's kitchen. Air condition worked fantastically, considering it was 100 degrees fahrenheit. Indoor pool was a delight at night. “ Perfect recommendation in Tuscany ”
We were a party of ten at Villa Anatra. There were two couples and the remainder were single women. The couples each had a suite and each of the women had a suite. All had bathrooms and some had sitting rooms. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen is well equipped, we had the option to book tours which we did and one night we had a private chef cone in to cook for the group. There is a beautiful pool but if was unfortunately too cold to use it. I highly recommend this place as a base for exploring Tuscany.

“ A Tuscan dream ”
Our holiday here exceeded my dreams. Ragnana itself was a lovely, traditional Tuscan farmhouse, beautifully cool when it was too hot outside. The grounds were lovely and the pool was exceptionally clean. There were lots of wonderful outside areas to eat or sit in and enjoy the fabulous views. One major highlight for us was watching a couple of fireflies which joined us for al fresco suppers most evenings..
Radicondoli is a short stroll away and is a beautiful, friendly small town, we loved it.

The villa and location were everything we wanted them to be. Radicondoli is a beautiful place, full of character and charm and the villa is ideally placed to enjoy the local sights, shops and restaurants. “ Fantastisk ”
Vi havde den skønneste uge i dette smukke gamle hus. Vi har boet 8 mennesker i huset og det er perfekt indrettet til en stor familie . Poolen og udeområderne er lækre og med masser af plads . Området er smukt og byen er virkelig hyggelig. Der er lidt langt til de større indkøb , men der er en lille butik oppe i byen som har et stort udvalg ( størrelsen taget i betragtning ) . Alt i alt en helt fantastisk uge .

“ Wonderful villa with great pool and terrace with fabulous views. Easy stroll to village. ”
Really lovely villa. The interior is rustic but very clean and comfortable. The pool and terrace are great with fabulous views over the valley, with raised external eating area with views. Claudio the caretaker is lovely and helpful. He tends the garden and pool regularly - the garden and plants are wonderful.
The village is a 5 minute walk away with 3 good restaurants and two bars. There is a COOP, bakery, butcher and pharmacy. Very sociable and welcoming village.
Roads in this area of Tuscany are quite windy, and so travel is slow and so the nearest supermarkets are 30 minutes away. Downsides (dependent on what you want) are poor wifi coverage and very limited TV.

“ We loved the farmhouse. ”
We loved the farmhouse. The pool was great and the whole setting was kept immaculate by Claudia who was a star. He was discreet in keeping pool area and gardens clean and helpful with any other queries. Thanks for the olive oil and wine! The location was excellent and 5 mins from Radicondoli - easy walk- which had 3 good standard restaurants and a bar which had very reasonably priced drinks sitting amongst the locals. The farmhouse was very well equipped and although rustic was charming. Head out the back past the pool and you are amongst the olive groves and garden allotments and some nice quiet tracks around the countryside. Would definitely recommend. We didn’t have a car and that was fine as the village had everything. Would recommend one for access to other hilltop villages though.

Fantastisk ferie i charmerende Villa Ragnana. Smukkeste udsigt. Tæt på dejlige Radicondoli med aktivt lokalmiljø og et par fine spisesteder. Signor Claudio sørgede dagligt for at alt udendørs incl pool var rent og indbydende. Forærede os et par flasker af hans egen dejlige vin og olivenolie. Har et stort ønske om at vende tilbage til dette vidunderlige sted.

“ Perfect location in Tuscany ”
We loved Ragana in Radicondoli. The villa is typical old style tuscany villa which adds to the charm was huge (4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms), clean and with all modern appliances. The grounds are large and maintained well by Claudio - the owner, who is a most helpful and pleasant host. The private pool was excellent and with many lounges and tables etc. The villa is situated on the outskirts of the village and adjacent to the owner's working olive farm.

“ A wonderful place for a family ”
Me and my family including six adults, one child and one baby stayed at Villa Ragnana for five nights and we couldn't have found a better place! Radicondoli is a beatiful village with a handful of nice eateries, a small supermarket and amazing panoramas - wherever you are. The kind and caring owner of Villa Ragnana was a lovely host and the house covered all our needs. The outside areas including the swimmingpool are wonderful too. The booking agency was extremely helpful and made us feel much welcome and well-prepared. All in all a sublime experience!

“ Perfect Week in Tuscany ”
Ragnana has the best views of the beautiful Tuscan hills. The clever aspect of the pool and terrace really gave us uninterrupted hills , fields and cypress trees. Claudio (the owner) welcomed us and proudly showed us around the property , leaving us some of his homemade wine and olive oil. He later dropped round some of his home grown tomatoes and cucumber... delicious. We had decided to opt for a villa within walking distance of a village so that we could pop in for an ice-cream and go to dinner without using the car. This worked really well and we sampled the food at all the three restaurants. Loved Pizza National and Agriteca in Piazza. We were also able to drive to Volterra, Siena and San Gimignano which were less than an hour away. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

“ Cosy old house with a great pool area ”
Cosy old house with a great pool area and a nice view to the Tuscan landscape. The children loved the huge pool. Only a short walking distance to the nearby village with great restaurants, bakery and coffee shops. Being a family of eight people, the kitchen area and the fridge is rather small but it worked out well with some simple cooking.

“ House for a great vacation ”
Excellent house, nice pool and surrondings with lots of room for kids and families. Only a short walk to Radicondoli, which is a very small and cosy town. But with restaurants, café and bakeries. Cafe Il Nationale is super nice with great coffee, ice cream and pizzas. Claudio - the owner of the house - is very nice and super helpfull. We are definetely thinking about going back.

“ The villa is absolutely perfect... ”
We stayed in Ragnana Radicondoli, we took Dan's great advice and were not disappointed. The villa is absolutely perfect well stocked , lovely outdoor dining area with a beautiful well maintained pool . The owner Claudio could not have been more welcoming and discreet as he tended the beautiful garden surrounding the villa early every morning. The restaurants in Radicondoli are fantastic esp Cafe National which was our absolute favourite. It is so well positioned to visit many beautiful towns and one hour from the coast . I have to mention the backup and support we got from Daniel as we had a unexpected medical issue with one of the family and he was exceptional with help on the phone and contacting someone local to help us as well as contacting a the Dr and acting as translator . I would have no hesitation in recommending this travel company and Ragnana Villa . Superb !

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed Ragnana and Radicondoli. The house was basic but lovely and our host was wonderful. Despite having problems with the hot water for the first 2 nights we thoroughly enjoyed living there and experiencing Tuscany. Claudio cleaned the pool every day and watered the plants but was very unintrusive and even cleaned the BBQ! It was such a great place for our party of eight. We would definitely like to return in 2020 and would like to stay somewhere nearer to Lucca and would not hesitate to use your company again. Thank you for your brilliant service that exceeded our expectations.

Many thanks for your recommendation re Ragnana. Our group of six adults stayed there for a week and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Location was great: we loved the proximity to charming Radicondoli, and the view and access to countryside at the back easily made up for the initially off-putting approach through the modern housing development. The house was clean, well maintained, well equipped, and had comfortable beds. Claudio was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. All in all it was an excellent choice for us, and we’d certainly recommend it to others!

Some great local tips!
We have been in correspondence with Dan, mainly about the pool – but I do want to stress again how impressed we have been with you all at ItoT: thank you!
Restaurants: Agriteca is lovely and our favourite, notwithstanding the limited menu: service form the sweet Romanian couple front-of-house, is professional and impeccable and the food is excellent (the pork especially: I had it at least three times!) La Pergola was nearly as good: bigger and buzzing and with locals (always a good sign for me). We went there several times Golfo di Napoli: bizarre! A vast but empty ‘fish and steak’ restaurant that one night had no fish (we went twice, only when the others were full or closed) Fattoria Tegoni (part owners of Agriteca as I am sure you know) was wonderful for the cooking lesson from Andrea (and the result for those of us who joined the cooks to eat the result!
Places: Casole d’Elsa was a late discovery: go before 13.00 and get to the top of the tower : lunch at Il Porrino was lovely (we had the bruschetta/crostini, having seen them; wish I had gone for the salsiccie e fagiole after I saw them!
- Panzano: beautiful little town (thanks Fodor for the recommendation). Lunch at Cantinetta Sassolini (only now do I see #1 Trip Advisior) was excellent, great welcome and service form the owner Massa Marittima: another wonderful surprise. Climb the Torre del Candeliere for stunning views. Lunch in a shelter from the heavy rain at Era Ora, again overseen by the owner, was again splendid Siena: do not miss the Pinacoteca – wonderful art and hardly any people.

La Ragnana was a beautiful villa, lovingly cared for by the owner. The villa, outside patios, and swimming pool was clean and well maintained. The owner generously supplied us with his homemade wine, and produce from his garden. The villa was close enough to Radicondoli to allow us to walk in whenever we needed anything. (There are many small stores, including two grocery stores, a butcher, a pharmacy, etc.) We highly recommend Ristorante Trattoria La Pergola (Although note that reservations are helpful), and also recommend Il Granaio. Our only negative was that Siena, Firenze, etc. could only be visited by car.

I had an idea of a romantic Tuscan villa set in a beautiful surroundings and I wasn't disappointed. Everyone loved it! The pool is fantastic, it's private and has a great view of the surrounding countryside. The owner was very hospitable and brought over several bottles of home made vino and a stack of tomatoes, which we enjoyed. The village of Radicondoli is quaint, there are a few good restaurants to eat in, the villagers were friendly and helpful. There are also some great walks around the village. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

“ We can't wait to return to La Ragnana ”
The Villa was perfect for our family of eight including two children ages three and six. The owner was a wonderfull host working every day to clean the pool, work in the yard, and empty all the outside trash. He would arrive early and be gone by the time we were getting out of bed. This is truly the best family vacation we have ever experienced due largely to the quality of the Villa and the hosts hospitality. The town of Radicondoli is a delight, not too big, not too small with a couple of great restaurants and a few small shops to help stock the kitchen in the Villa. Anyone planning to tour Tuscany by car will find this location makes it easy to get to all the great locations in Tuscany and return home at the end of the day. We can't wait to return to La Ragnana.

“ Would recommend for a large family ”
We shared this with another family and it was a fantastic base to experience tuscany at its best. The villa has a lot a charm and a few quirks (electrics and water) but the location and extensive grounds were a delight. The owner was exceptionally helpful. The town is great and is wonderful for simple local shops - great on foot.Easy reach of San Giminiano and Siena. The proprty has stacks of charater and charm. Would recommend for a large family- our children really enjoyed the freedom and the local restaurants. Brilliant.

Folks, if you want a lovely home, steeped in Italian tradition with a worldclass location/view and wonderful owners, this is it! The property, surrounded by Olive trees and vineyards is wonderfully relaxing and soulful. An easy 1000 meter walk takes you into the village which features superb architecture, food, great cafe's and incredible views of the rolling hills and valleys below. We plan on returning in 2010 and can't wait.Enjoy!

“ ...the best vacation we had ever had ”
We spent two weeks at La Ragnana with our son and his family and we all agreed that it was the best vacation we had ever had. A large part was due to the ambience of La Ragnana and to Gigi, our thoughtful landlord. Also, Radicondoli is a delightful small village with enough shops and restaurants to satisfy all our needs. The swimming pool at La Ragnana is perfect, with its view across the valley towards Belforte. The olive groves, spring house and vegetable gardens on the grounds were also very appealing. The house was surrounded by beautiful flowers blooming in large planters, tended by our landlord, Gigi. We also enjoyed the outdoor woodfire grill for several meals. Daytrips to Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, San Golgano, Montepulciano were easy by car, and to Florence by train from Poggibonsi (where we did our major shopping).

“ The cottage was excellent ”
We just returned from a week radicondoli. The cottage was excellent (especially the swimming pool) for 2 families with a very friendly Mr Lastrucci who managed the place. What makes Ragnana a perfect place to stay is the fact that it is very close to the radicondoli village, which is a village where you can live the tuscan live at its best. (no touristic but all the shops and services you need). To improve -> quality of the beds (matrasses)

Wonderful holiday enjoyed by 3 generations of our family. Lovely farmhouse - great mix of rustic original features, but with all the modern facilities that you would want. Beautiful pool and patio areas - very well looked after. Views to die for. Fantastic owner who left his own red wine and olive oil for us to sample. He also dropped off some tomatoes, courgettes, fresh herbs and peaches from his farm during the week. Radicondoli is a lovely village with 3 great restaurants - especially La Nazionale. Ideal for day trips to Volterra, San Gimiginano and Siena. We would love to stay here again.

“ ...had the time of our lives ”
We (5 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for two weeks and had the time of our lives. The setting--house, grounds, pool, was exquisite and the owner could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Every day he left us gifts from his farm: wine, olive oil, lettuce, basil, etc. We based out of the house and did day trips all over Tuscany. It was a magical vacation and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The town of Radiccondoli (just a short walk up the hillside) boasts 3 excellent restaurants and a warm community.

“ I can thoroughly recommend the villa ”
Ragnana was exactly as expected and described to me by Laura at Invitation to Tuscany. It is a lovely farmhhouse which is large enough for an extended family such as ours, comfortable and welcoming. The outside spaces are particularly lovely - the pool is very clean and surrounded by tables and chairs, and there are various other patios and tables where you can sit and enjoy the quite fabulous views. We particularly liked the quick walk into Radicondoli and ate in a couple of the village restaurants, strolling home afterwards which was a joy! Claudio was the perfect host, leaving us his own wine and olive oil which was delicious. I can thoroughly recommend the villa and we hope to return

“ The perfect place for a family reunion ”
Lovely setting at Radicondoli - about 30 minutes drive to Siena, 90 minutes to Firenze and beautiful scenery all around. A lot of space in Ragnana, nice swimming pool and most everything one could ask for. 5 stars also to Claudio, the perfect host, who surprised us by providing us with a case of his good wine, olive oil, and even fresh vegetables from his own garden. The perfect place for a family reunion. The use of a GPS recommended for first arrival.

We had a lovely week at Ragnana. It was exactly as you described, and felt very much like home. The swimming pool, grounds and views were all wonderful and it was a pleasure to see Claudio every day - his wine and olive oil were greatly appreciated.
We loved the pizzas at the Nationale and had a nice meal at La Pergola on the stunning balcony. Siena was a lovely town to visit, and some of the family went over to Elba for the day which was very interesting, if a lot of driving.

“ Ragnana had it all ”
My husband and I wanted a villa in Tuscany that was not too large, which was not part of a multi-tenanted property, that had great views, and which was close to a town. Ragnana had it all. It is a wonderful villa outside the fabulous small town of Radicondoli, which was a short (steep) walk for groceries and dining. The villa grounds are lovely and have expansive views of the valley below – great beds, lots of hot water (there were only two of us) and a relatively well equipped kitchen. The owner Claudio lives in town and is happy to help with questions etc. His home made wine was excellent. The restaurants in town were very good – La Pergola has terrific pizzas and a beautiful patio overlooking the other side of the valley (a must for sunset); La Nationale is run by three local women and has very good pastas; La Pizzeria Granaio also had excellent pizza and a wonderful chef who also sings beautifully (lots of fun k- not clear to me why La Pergola is crowded and this wonderful place is less so). In short, it was a perfect place and we would return if we can.

“ Consistently popular with all our clients ”
We've known Ragnana and rented it for the past 36 years; in all that time the house has been consistently popular with all our clients. It started out without a swimming pool and a number of other things, like the barbecue and pergola, but has always retained its simple charm. This is a house for living in and enjoying; the decor will win no interior design prizes but is eminently usable. Most of the living goes on outside anyway, on the large terrace area with a pergola, or around the pool. And with the lively village of Radicondoli within walking distance, many evenings will be spent in one of the local restaurants. A firm favourite, helped also by Claudio's charm. He often drops by with home produced wine, olive oil and vegetables for guests.

“ ...the best appointed house we have had ”
I have arranged holidays for groups of friends for the last 10 years and I think La Ragnana has been the best appointed house we have had. They have all been good but the thought behind the arrangements and the quality of the equipment was superb. The various outside terraces and poolside were furnished with top quality loungers, umbrellas and even a shower by the pool. We have stayed in places where there has been a state of the art cooker that you needed a degree in practical engineering to use, here it was good basic turn on and go. The utensils looked new. The bottles of wine and the virgin olive oil left by Claudio the proprietor from his own fattoria was also welcoming and excellent. While a younger group would have found the terrain much easier and been able to do the short walk into town easily, we did eat at La Pergola, which outside has views to die for, and Agriteca which is in the town both busy in season and food cooked to order. My daughter and I both speak a bit of Italian and that went down quite well - everyone was very helpful.

Lovely villa and Claudio kept the pool and garden areas immaculate and was very discrete. The inside of the villa is great and the bedrooms were lovely.
All in all, a lovely place and Radicondoli is perfect. The cafe nationale was great great value and served delicious meals. Agriteco in piazza was lovely too. We liked La Pergola too for the views.

We loved our stay here. The views from the house - and of course from the tower - were amazing.The house was characterful and comfortable. The garden and grounds were beautiful and the hot tub very well used.
Rosado was the perfect host We all appreciated the delicious buffet waiting for us in our arrival. He was helpful and informative and answered all our questions about the area.

Our stay at Francesca was beautiful. Big property with a refreshing pool after a day of exploring Tuscany were the perfect combination. We had a real experience of the Italian lifestyle. The owner, Rosado, was very welcoming and helpful with his tips about places where to go. He was also available 24/7 which is very generous. The organized vine tasting and the delicious breakfasts were a beautiful experience. We are greatfull on his hospitality during our stay. We are definitely coming back.

Francesca is even more beautiful than the pictures. There was plenty of space and our group was very comfortable. The en suite bathrooms and air conditioners are a huge luxury. “ We can’t wait to return! ”
We spent a week in Oliveta and we can’t wait to return! The interiors are incredibly refined, with a perfect balance between Tuscan tradition and modern comfort. The bedrooms are huge, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms feel like a private spa. The living room was perfect for cozy evenings. The outdoor space is just as spectacular—immaculate gardens, beautifully scented flowers, and a breathtaking view of the rolling hills. The heated pool is a true luxury, ideal for relaxing at any time of the day. A special thanks to Chef Pietro that made our dinner unforgettable! Last but not least we love tennis and having the tennis courts at our disposal was such a great thing!

“ Simply stunning! ”
What can I say… Oliveta is simply STUNNING! It looked amazing in the photos, but in person, it’s even better. The interiors are a perfect blend of elegance and comfort: spacious rooms, refined furnishings, and every little detail carefully thought out. The garden is a dream, a peaceful oasis with perfect spots to relax in the shade of olive trees. The heated pool was the cherry on top—taking a swim at sunset with a view of the Tuscan hills was an unforgettable experience. Special mention to Barbara that took care of our stay and organized service and activities for us! If you're looking for a place to unwind and enjoy Tuscany to the fullest, this villa is the best choice. We’ll definitely be back!

“ Delightful Vacation Location ”
We want to express our appreciation to the fantastic staff at Lornano, Malvasia. They were very anxious to meet any of our requests and answered questions providing us with locations of restaurants and groceries. The location is quite central to many of the hill towns in Tuscany and close proximity to the highway.
We certainly enjoyed tasting the wines!

“ I would recommend Fattoria Lornano without reservation ”
I rented Malvasia for one week and was there by myself - I enjoyed that week as I had an opportunity to contemplate as I wanted. The facility was great as was the countryside.
Angelita was kind, charming and extremely helpful. I then rented all four villas for the second week and had a changing cast of family and friends over the two weeks. Everyone loved it immensely. The physical settings and Angelita's and Silvio's support made for a wonderful time for everyone. The wine, of course, assisted.
Having all four villas allowed for an intermingling of people, some of whom knew each other and some meeting for the first time and it all worked well, in large part because of the warmth of the physical setting. My single complaint is about the WiFi which was a bit challenged. A pain in the modern era but hardly the biggest issue in life. I would recommend Fattoria Lornano without reservation and if I can organize it, would do it again. All the cottages met or exceeded expectations.

“ a lovely time in Lornano ”
We did have a lovely time in Lornano and the surrounding area but I have to say that Malvasia is suffering from quite a few damp problems particularly in the basement areas (kitchen and bathroom) and although it did not spoil our stay at the Fattoria it is not something you would expect at what is after all quite an expensive rental, everything else was just about perfect and Angioletta provided a great tour and tasting session to boot - the Lornano chianti is actually very good!
In terms of local restaurants then Ristorante Enoteca is recommended albeit having a limited menu that could be varied a bit between lunch and evening meals but in general we would suggest that unless visitors intend cooking we would recommend they take their main meals at lunchtime when visiting the local and very attractive villages most of which have some very good restaurants with prices to suit all. Once you are back at Lornano after a long day out, it is a long trek out to try and find a good local restaurant - Badesse is not one of them though!
That being said, we had a great time with good weather, beautiful scenery in a very relaxing and quiet environment, which is why Lornano caught our imagination when we started to look for a place in Tuscany.
Thank you again for all your help in organising the break, if it wasn’t for the damp problem there would be five stars all round.

“ The house was great ”
The house was great, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We were able to visit Siena in 10 mins and Florence in 45, or just hang around and play in the wonderful swimming pool.
They dropped just one star on erratic hot water supply and less than perfectly comfy beds.

“ Overall a fantastic place. ”
We stayed here is summer 2010. The property was very comfy, clean and a great location. The wine and olive oil from the vineyard on site was fantastic. The owners were very accommodating in showing us around the wine cellar. We loved the restaurant in the village. The pool was great to cool off in. The bus to Siena was also very handy. Overall a fantastic place.

“ The villa is in an ideal location ”
I have been holidaying in Tuscany for several years and without doubt the most memorable trip was our visit to Malvasia at Lornano last July. The villa is in an ideal location for exploring all of Tuscany's treasures - you are minutes away from the main Siena to Florence motorway with San Gimignano and the fabulous Chianti towns of Radda and Gaiole also within easy reach.
However if you want to completely chill out and relax the villa is situated in the idylic hamlet of Lornano which is set in some of the most stunning countryside Tuscany has to offer. The villa itself was beautifully decorated with everything and more you can expect from a Tuscan villa. It is also a working vinyard which produces fabulous Chianti wine, grappa and olive oil - no visit to Lornano can be complete without a tour to the wine cellars and a tasting. You can also expect the warmest of welcomes at Lornano as the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and do whatever they can to help you get the most from your holiday. A
lso give the restaurant in the town a go - you won't be disappointed. There are too many reasons to explain why I will be going back to Lornano in the very near future but I can assure you I will be and my advice to you is to take up this Invitation to Tuscany - you won't be disappointed.

“ Everything we had hoped for. ”
The host could not be more gracious and accommodating. Doing the on site dinners is a must as they are fun interaction and the food is great. Dinner night the sell the wine pizza night you can bring your own. The villas are spacious and clean with a rustic feel.

“ Great stay with the family ”
Had a great week in this very grand villa set on hillside.
Good location and views. House full of antiques with great ambiance. Pool is private to the rear, well used, although very cold as not heated. Caretaker and housekeeper live on top floor but keep themselves private and don’t speak English.
Had a good meal organised by Invitation to Tuscany served in top floor dining room by Housekeeper, like having your own restaurant on the top floor. Also Great restaurants 5 mins by car and close by is local coop. Monteriggioni is very close too for wine tasting. Only thing missing was mugs for hot drinks, and maybe more towels midweek would have been good.

“ Our best stay in Italy! ”
We enjoyed an incredible ten day stay at Villa San Miniato. Our suite, Argentum, was large, clean, well equipped and perfect.
Our hosts Stefano and Francesco were available when we had a questions and went above & beyond to make our stay exceptional. After a booking error on our part, the hosts invited us to stay an extra night at the villa. After very hot days of touring in Tuscany, we were able to return to the villa for refreshing swims in the pool. The views surrounding the pool were breathtaking. On our hottest day, we chose to spend the entire day poolside! Other guests were friendly & conversational. We could prepare our own meals when desired and laundry facility in our suite made the trip seamless. Invitation to Tuscany did a great job facilitating our stay. When asked to find a place to purchase Sheep milk nearby, the provided recommendation led us to a fabulous farm visit and meal. The farm owner made further recommendations to enhance our stay!

“ Quiet, quaint, and quintessential Italian! ”
Our apartment at Villa San Miniato, outside the beautiful city of San Miniato, was a quiet country oasis. It was so clean, so quiet and so charming. Complete with a beautiful pool - with a view of San Miniato in the distance - the whole villa was quaint, beautifully restored and so comfortable.
Lastly, the manager - Francesco - was so personable and helpful. He was the perfect host, helping us and advising us when needed, and giving us privacy to enjoy the Tuscan countryside. Villa San Miniato was wonderful; I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy Tuscany, and spend day trips in nearby Florence, Pisa, and Lucca.

Fantastic place for family. Excelent service and great standard. Perfect pool for families with kids. Great basecamp for visiting Pisa, Lucca, Firenze and Siena. The place is on a hill top and even in high temperatures there is slways a chilling wind.

It is an ideal place for family and friends. The area is a nice small town with hospitable Italian people. Easy access to Florence, Pisa and the coast, only 45 minutes by car.

“ Beautiful well equipped villa in stunning location, perfect for a family holiday. ”
We booked the villa for a family reunion and landmark birthday celebration. The villa has seven spacious en suite bedrooms, it is well equipped, the support staff are easy to get hold of and any requests were handled promptly. We asked for a recommendation for a personal chef and Chef Gabriele produced a wonder birthday lunch for fifteen people. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous and the gardens well maintained. Our grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the young adults made full use of the turkish sauna and steam room. Most of the bedrooms are beautifully fitted out so it was odd to have a bedroom with no bedside tables, only a wooden chair. The seventh bedroom downstairs is equipped for wheelchair access and a bed for a carer. Our family used it as an extra bedroom. It does not have any windows that open up which made it quite stuffy. A number of us found the pillows in the bedrooms too firm. The villa met all our expectations and our family had a truly wonderful time.

We spent four amazing days in Tuscany at this beautiful location. We were traveling with our best friends from the United States and could not have been more impressed with the location, the peacefulness, the amazing accommodations and the overall feeling of tranquility at the villa. We have traveled a lot of places in the world and this ranks as the top location we have stayed. The pool and the spa accommodations are second to none. The view from this area is breathtaking and the sunsets are awesome. We only had two couples in a house that had six master bedrooms and large bathroom suites. Each one was decorated differently and was extremely well done. Needless to say, we had way too much space but it was well worth the price we paid regardless. The adjacent church and grounds only added to the ambience of the experience. You’ve truly felt like you were stepping back in time, but still had all of the modern amenities and then some for today. Christine was an awesome hostess!!

“ Fairy Tale Family Experience ”
A magical two weeks at Villa Cortona. My wife and I celebrated our 70th birthdays by taking our children and grandchildren to Tuscany for two weeks. My grandson thought we were living in a palace and asked if there was a moat! Alessandra and Federico are without exception, the warmest most attentive hosts we've ever experienced among the dozens of rental properties we've engaged over the years. We asked many questions and made a few requests during our stay and they responded every time immediately, fulfilling each one. The housekeeping is immaculate. Each bedroom is unique and amazing as are the bathrooms. Complete privacy on this large estate yet close enough that some of our adult children walked into Cortona one day. The outdoor canopied patio is spectacular and we enjoyed most of our meals there. The pool is huge and perfectly maintained. This was a bucket list trip for my family and this Villa met and exceeded our high expectations.

“ Dream vacation in Tuscany! ”
Wow! Dream vacation in Tuscany! The entire family spent the entire week in this amazing Tuscan Villa and enjoyed every minute of it. We were a total of 15 people of all ages and everyone just loved it. The villa is very clean and fit well with the surrounding. The pool is big and fun and the area around the Villa was great for a walk or a jog. The Owners are fantastic! I definitely recommend this place!

“ ...excellent location in Tuscan countryside ”
Lovely, spacious and interesting accomodation for 4; excellent location in Tuscan countryside (although only good view from inside house from shower room); great access for Siena and Chianti towns; good local restaurant. Beautiful gardens for relaxing, and great pool. Kitchen equipment OK, but would have preferred electric kettle and toaster. Main drawback was patio area; access via very steep outside staircase proved tiring re need to carry food/drinks/glasses/crockery etc for every meal/snack for 2 weeks. Of particular concern, patio area did not, as described in brochure, feel very private. As directly in front of wine tasting room, lots of visitors milling around, and our "private" patio used regularly, mainly by guides/drivers I think, for smoking and telephone conversations. Unfortunately, my husband was unwell during most of our holiday, as a result of which we stayed around the property more than planned, hence more aware of patio issues. He did however enjoy and benefit from sitting reading in lovely garden under umbrella. Many thanks for your help.

Casa Emilio in Montestigliano was a modern apartment with everything necessary for a good holiday in Tuscany. We stayed at Montestigliano for a friend's wedding. The open spaces and courtyards were beautiful for all the events. Breakfast every morning was delicious and plenty.
