The hilly, green and beautiful province of Terni is the second and smaller of Umbria's two provinces. The beautiful city of Orvieto is in the north of the province, with a fabulous Cathedral and the spectacular well of San Patrizio, carved in case of siege, with a double-helix of pathways for donkeys spiralling down through rock to the water table. Todi is in the east, also a beautiful historic town well worth visiting - the whole of Terni and Umbria is a green and beautiful region, with excellent food and some wonderful hill villages to explore.
