Salento is a beautiful area of Apulia, or Puglia, in the heel of Italy's Boot. The capital is the architecturally stunning art city of Lecce while to the east and west you will find the popular seaside cities of Otranto and Gallipoli. Heading south, on the very tip of the land, is the famous marina of Santa Maria de Leuca, and any exploration will reveal countless other small traditional seaside and countryside towns and villages in Salento.
