One of the largest lakes in the Alps north of Milan, Lake Maggiore stretches long and thin through the mountains into Switzerland. Like Lake Como, it is an area beloved by the stylish Milanese, particularly in the southern part of the Lake. Stresa in particular is known for it's large luxury hotels facing the Isola Bella and the famous Palazzo Borromeo. It is a place that people fall in love with, the sharp green slopes plunging into the deep and dark blue-green waters of the lake, wonderful to explore by boat.
